Put a fresh link between the gas pedal and the carburetor with the Pioneer Carburetor Accelerator Cable CA-8408. It connects the accelerator pedal to the carburetor throttle linkage and is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, including the 1980-1987 Dodge D150 and W150, the 1981-1987 Dodge D250, the 1981-1983 Plymouth PB150 and PB250, and the 1986-1987 Dodge D100 and W100.
- Steel inner cable: A durable steel inner cable carries pedal movement to the carburetor throttle.
- Polymer outer housing: The polymer outer housing protects the inner cable from corrosion and abrasion.
- Built to OE specs: Pioneer builds its cables to OE specifications as a high-quality replacement option.
- Hardware where applicable: Pioneer cables often come with common brackets, grommets and ends when the application calls for them.
An accelerator cable slides back and forth inside its housing every time the pedal moves. With age, the cable can fray or kink and the housing can crack. A pedal that feels stiff or sticks can be a sign the cable may need replacing, as can a throttle that is slow to return to idle or visible damage to the cable. Before you replace the cable, check the throttle linkage and return springs as well. If a worn cable is the cause, CA-8408 replaces it.
This cable also fits the 1980 Dodge D200, W200 and Ramcharger, and the 1980 Plymouth PB100, PB200 and Trailduster. For engine details, see the Buyer’s Guide tab.
