Designed for smooth, power-assisted steering, the AISIN rack and pinion, part number SGK-025, is a new power steering unit that converts the steering wheel’s rotation into the side-to-side motion that steers the wheels. It is a direct-fit replacement for the 2004-2009 Kia Spectra and the 2005-2009 Kia Spectra5 (engine: All), with one unit used per vehicle.

Signs a Kia Spectra rack and pinion may need replacing include power steering fluid leaking from the rack, stiff or heavy steering, excess play or wandering, and knocking noises when turning. Other steering and suspension parts can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose the system first. If the rack is the cause, SGK-025 replaces it.
